All living things strive to avoid death. However, only man able to present it as a kind of concrete image. Thus, the phenomenon of death – is a kind of a different reality of life.
Death ethically – is an absolute evil, it is dramatic, is not desirable, although it is inevitable. In the end, all determines our attitude to this phenomenon through the sense, consciousness and experience.
Death in philosophical sense – this is other being of the complex system, which until then was a living organism[1]. At the same time we can see a considerable variation of relation for death, both in historic and in the phenomenological sense. M. Heidegger (1889-1976) Godfather existentialism considered the death as the end of human existence. It has a positive assessment, which is natural and logical end of life. This is kind of passive rationality. J.-P. Sartre (1905-1980) one of the main representatives of French existentialism, by contrast, advocated human active opposition to the death, resistance to it. In general, the philosophical thought considering a death mainly in the context of relationship to consciousness; category of immortality was as an occasional guest.
I believe that the basic categories through which perceived the man death, the following:
1. Socio-systemic category. A person reflects on the death here through various forms of objective activity. Strictly speaking, immortality of biological object as a real phenomenon is impossible in the observable world. The conservation law determines the development of all living beings on Earth. Otherwise it violated the cardinal principle of development in which each subsequent phase of development must proceed from to the previous phase.
2. Figuratively-emotional category. A man comprehends death here through lack of repeatable effects real physical presence. The illusion of reality is possible also that offer different kinds of techniques and methods, including spiritism, hallucinogens, etc. What to expect for the tens of deceased US citizens with their followers in Russia which are deeply frozen? They are all prisoners of the great illusion of endless possibilities technology. Only a fate of mummies of Egyptian pharaohs is future for them. Immortality in that sense (in the historic, but not in the biological sense) can be guaranteed for those who have creative results in the most diverse fields of human endeavor. External Memory will save them in various forms (books, works of art etc.).
In the abstract-biological sense (this is the third category, through which man perceives death), immortality provides a memory of the ontogenetic apparatus for the sake of eternal life by according point of view person.
Now is the most important thing. Common consistent criteria for determining death are absent at the moment. Experts only fix certain physiological phenomena, which are considered a sign of the death. In some cases that is work of the cardiopulmonary complex in other cases – the electrophysiological activity of the brain.
This is believed sufficient for the transplantation surgery. Indeed, here we have tissues and organs in which the system mechanisms of developed consciousness irretrievably lost, but activity is preserve only three phylogenetically preceding system elements. This peculiar state of the protein and its hydration shell which A. Szent-Györgyi (1893-1986) has defined (1972) as a kind a dance water to the tune of protein, this is the work genetic apparatus, and, finally, is the preservation of activity nerve elements. Death represents a multi-step systemic process, but not a moment. If loss of regular systemic quality of the organism has irreversible character, this reduces systemic status. Restore the operation of these elements of the system in the future is impossible, by definition[2]. Therefore, the loss of developed consciousness as of systemic quality is an insurmountable barrier to return to the former status of Homo sapiens L.
However chronic diseases really are immortal. They can only to multiply the forms of manifestation in the further development of the living organisms. The successes and achievements on the path of global degeneration are obvious, and it is natural. Therefore, such social ills as crime, armed conflict, environmental disasters, etc. are eternal. Eternal Nature has its ethical base. A person can qualify for it only by cause of own ignorance.
The path to immortality has some frontier, which is a horizon line which is removed as you move to it of the human mind. A person should it understand.
